OUR LAST FULL DAY IN SHUNAN

As the title of this blog says, we will be leaving Shunan tomorrow morning and travelling to Osaka. So today is our last full day and what better place to document that than Hamamoto. As I write, Mami is looking at the Jetstar website and planning our next trip!! Isn’t life fun! I’m drinking my last coffee here for a while and enjoying it.
Tomorrow we will drive Nana’s car, and although it is only a four hour trip back to Osaka, Mami wants to break the trip up by doing some more island hopping along the way and then spend a night in Onomichi. It sounds good to me but the weather forecast is for rain in the afternoon. Dare I say it might put a dampener on our plans.
We would normally share the driving, but my International licence has just expired, so Mami will be doing all the driving. I love driving but as my licence expired in mid January, so there’s no way I can drive.
After a night in Onomichi we will then proceed to Osaka and spend three nights with Nana. We fly out on Tuesday night at 9.45pm direct to Cairns and from there to Melbourne. That will complete our 58 day trip to Japan and hasn’t it been fun!! You bet it has!!
It will be difficult when we leave,as we have spent about four and a half weeks here with Youko and Yoshi. At the moment we might have to extend our stay for another night, as Mami has had stomach pains and feels a bit sick.
Yesterday Youko suggested we all go out for a final dinner at a Chinese restaurant in Shunan. Mami was feeling a bit crook before we left, I had to be woken up as I was really tired and Yoshi also looked tired. Still, we all made an effort and went. Mami ate as much as a sparrow, I ordered a meal which had nuts so Yoshi was counted out and it had capsicum which Youko cannot eat. Mami helped me out, eating one bit of chicken and a cashew. I think the only one who enjoyed the night was Youko. Who ate everything except the chicken and cashews dish. All in all not a brilliant night out. More like the last supper!!
I promised last night to give Yoshi and Youko a final massage and I was true to my word. Youko went first and then took off to have a bath. SShe is very happy and chirpy, whereas the rest of us look very tired. Yoshi got his massage which I finished around 9.00pm. It is now 10.00pm and he is still asleep where I left him.
I hope we all feel better in the morning, especially Mami ,as she has planned for us to do some more island hopping and has booked a hotel for the night. I guess we both will be sleeping with our fingers crossed that Mami is feeling better in the morning.
